Activism and Action without Attachment
Burnout is not the result of caring too much -Â it is the result of caring in a particular way, one entangled with outcome, and a need to see our actions makes the difference. This class examines the inner drivers of activist exhaustion, exploring how reactivity, righteousness, and attachment to results quietly undercut even the most committed among us.
Â
Drawing on the yogic teaching that action offered without ego-stake begins to expand the sense of self, we explore how surrender - not as giving up, but as opening up - transforms activism into a practice of genuine self-expansion. When we release our grip on outcomes, something opens: we give space for a larger pattern to unfold and begin to act not just for the world we can see, but for the one that will exist long after us. We plant seeds whose flowering we may never witness. This widening of our horizon — from the personal to the collective, from the present to the enduring - is itself the path, and the practice.
